The Case for Open Space
Partners for Open Space, of which MRPA serves in a leadership capacity, released “The Case For Open Space” which documents that land conservation funds are needed now more than ever at both the state and local levels.

The decline in funding for state and local programs has severely set back efforts to meet the statewide and county open space, agricultural preservation, and park development needs of Maryland citizens.

The report makes the case for full funding for Program Open Space as provided in the Governor's FY 13 budget. Protecting this funding is of critical importance, because when land is gone, it is gone forever.
