This course is designed to equip project and/or team leaders with the essential skills for successful project planning.

You will learn to  develop a number of skills such as planning, problem solving,  team building, leadership and communication

with stakeholders. 


Participants should also be able to:

• Define project management terms and concepts.

• Describe how project management practices can help in the planning and management of projects and events.

• Demonstrate a framework to help organize projects from beginning to end.

• Apply a step-by-step process to plan and manage projects.

• Practice the development of several key project management artifacts through the full life cycle of a parks project.


Instructor Bio:

Charlie Warner has 29 years of experience in project management, contracting, budgeting, and information technology. He has served in numerous leadership roles, including as the Director of several project management offices at the US Department of Veterans Affairs and the US Department of Education.  He is a graduate of the University of Maryland and a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute. Mr. Warner has been teaching project management and leadership classes for the last 10 years.


He is also a certified Coach from the International Coach Federation and a graduate of Georgetown University’s Leadership Coaching program.
