Programming 101 or 102 - $45.00

Continuing Education Credits (CEU’s):  .3 credits for each session approved

Description:  Do you have staff with a degree in a different field or staff that would like to enhance his or her programming skills?  This 2-part training is packed with great info to provide extensive resources and skills.   Participants can take both Programming 101 and 102 or either one of the two trainings. 


Programming 101

Programming 101 will include the following grass roots knowledge and topics:

·         Overview of the 10 Programming Areas

·         Lifelong Learning

·         Different Venues to Provide Programming

·         Contracts, Payroll, Volunteers and Full-Time Staff

·         How Do You Provide Direct Leadership or Train Others

·         Identifying Resources for Programming

·         How to Work with a Variety of Age Groups

    • Writing Programming Goals and Objectives and Program Budget
    • Overview of CAPRA Standards of Programming
    • Developing Schedules for Leagues and Programs and Facilities
    • How to Write and Implement a One-Page Program Plan.


Programming 102

Programming 102 will include the following grass roots knowledge and topics:

·         Special Event Management Tools

·         Recreation Inclusion

·         Marketing Programs (One-Page Marketing Plan)

·         Needs Assessments

·         Program Evaluations

·         Recruiting and Training Front Line Program Staff

·         Complying with Standards of Record Keeping and Statistics (Self-Regulations, CAPRA, Incident/Accident, Work Requests, etc.)

·         Revenue and Fee Policy and Cost Recovery

·         Education for Leisure Plan & Trend Analysis

·         Department Recreation and Parks Program Plan


Light breakfast and lunch are included; only participants signed up for both trainings will be given lunch.
