Wednesday, April 10

8:30 am depart the Hotel for DE Turf Sports Complex, Frederica, DE

 

9:00 - 10:15 am - Tour complex of 12 turf fields, on-site concessions and a championship field with permanent seating for 750. The mission of the DE TURF Sports Complex is to serve as an economic engine for central Delaware by providing a first-class sports destination venue that attracts sports tourism to the area, as well as services our local community needs for youth to play, learn, compete and grow.

 

10:15 to 11:00 am - Drive to “Sports at the Beach” in Georgetown DE

 

11:00 am to 12:30 pm - Tour the Sports at the Beach Complex which features feature sixteen natural grass baseball fields; on-site accommodations for coaches, teams, and families; Pro Shop; three concessions stands; an Indoor Academy facility; two playgrounds; 8 outdoor basketball courts: a swimming pool/sun deck...and much more! Over the course of the 2018 season, Sports at the Beach will host 40+ youth baseball tournaments for local and travel teams

 

12:30 to 1:30 pm - Drive to the Henry S. Parker Athletic Complex in Salisbury, MD

 

1:30 to 3:00 pm - County officials and the state of Maryland will pump in $3 million to expand the Henry S. Parker Athletic Complex. The expanded Salisbury site on Naylor Mill Road will include a total of eight diamond fields (4 with synthetic turf infields), new dugouts, two new scoreboards, two press boxes and other amenities, officials said. “We are now going to take that facility to the next level, and we’re very, very excited about that,” Director of Wicomico County Recreation, Parks & Tourism Steve Miller said. County officials also said they will host Athletx, an organization present throughout the country, in 2018 for the Youth Baseball Nationals. The event is expected to bring in $5 million to the local economy.
