Facility Management involves guiding and managing the operations and maintenance of buildings and community infrastructure.  It is an age-old practice which has existed out of necessity since buildings were first constructed to support human activities.  Today’s Facility Managers require a broad and diverse skill set much more in line with management and business services then the building trade-oriented services.  In the CAPRA Standards, all of Section 7.0 focuses on facility management which can help staff focus on excellence.  Participants will be given 12 tips for good practices in facility management while touring 4 local recreational facilities to identify the management and programming approaches based on the needs of individual sites.
